Sam Roloff founded Studio Ridge in San Francisco in 1996. He has a knack for designing Web sites that reflect the client's identity and convey that identity to the site's visitors.
His formal training is in the Fine Arts and, because of that, he brings a unique perspective to Web site design.
Sam is extremely proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and is an experienced client-side coder in HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and Macromedia's Flash.
Prior to 1996, Sam worked as a freelance graphic designer, primarily in print media. He earned his B.F.A from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1992 and managed small art galleries in San Francisco after graduation until 1994.
Sam then traveled extensively in Europe from 1994 - 1996 studying art, painting, and managing a small gallery in Prague.
Painting continues to be his passion and he has amassed an impressive portfolio over the years.
Three years ago, Cheryl formally joined the company her husband founded. She is responsible for project management, content development and management, server-side coding in Perl, PHP, and CGI, database integration, and information architecture.
During most of 1999, Cheryl was an independent IT consultant working at Abbott Laboratories and specializing in process engineering, data modeling, and business analysis. Prior to working independently, Cheryl was a consultant at BeggsHeidt Enterprise Consulting from 1995 - 1997 and at EXL Consulting, a San Francisco based company, from 1997-1998. From 1992 - 1995, Cheryl worked for Andersen Consulting as a system and business analyst and project team leader. She has experience in all phases of the systems development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to user acceptance testing and implementation.
Cheryl earned her B.S. in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Michigan in 1988 and an M.B.A. in Finance from Indiana University in 1992. Prior to returning to school for her M.B.A., Cheryl worked as a systems analyst for IBM, in Connecticut.
